Account information: When you create an account, we collect the email address and display name you provide.

Beach preferences: The beaches you save and your alert settings so we can deliver forecasts and notifications for the places you care about.

Approximate location: If you grant permission, we use your device location to suggest the nearest beach. We do not store precise GPS coordinates on our servers.

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics about which features you use (such as forecast plays) so we can improve the app.

To deliver real-time tide, weather, UV, wind, and wave forecasts for your selected beaches.

To send extreme weather and alert notifications you have opted into.

To generate shareable beach condition cards and news articles you choose to share.

To improve our forecasts, features, and overall experience.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited, anonymized usage metrics with service providers who help us run the app, and we comply with valid legal requests when required.

Doppler Dave pulls forecast data from public sources such as NOAA and Open-Meteo, and may use other third-party APIs for weather, maps, and audio generation. These providers have their own privacy practices governing any data they collect directly.

If you connect a third-party account (for example, to share content), that service controls what data is exchanged.

We show local sponsor messages and business listings relevant to your beach. We do not share your personal information with sponsors, and sponsor inquiries you submit are used only to respond to your request.

We keep your account and preference data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your personal data from our systems.

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data by using the in-app settings or by contacting us. You may also withdraw location and notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

Doppler Dave is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the bottom of this page and, for significant changes, notify you within the app.
